📏 How to Properly Measure Your Bully Breed for a Bully Revolution Collar

If you’ve ever bought a collar that was too tight, too loose, or just didn’t look right on your bully breed—don’t worry, you’re not alone. Bully breeds have unique builds that make traditional sizing tricky. That’s exactly why we created Bully Revolution: to design collars that actually fit the dogs they’re made for.

But to get the perfect fit, it starts with one thing: measuring your dog the right way.

Here’s a quick guide on how to properly measure your bully for one of our collars—so you get gear that’s secure, stylish, and built to perform.

  • A flexible measuring tape (or a piece of string and a ruler)
  • A treat or two to keep your pup happy
  • About 2 minutes!

📍 Step 1: Measure the Neck

This is the most important measurement.

  1. Have your dog stand upright in a natural, relaxed position.
  2. Wrap the measuring tape around the base of the neck—right where the collar would naturally sit.
  3. Make sure the tape is snug but not tight.
  4. You should be able to fit two fingers between the tape and your dog’s neck for comfort.

📏 Write this number down in inches or centimeters—this is your dog’s neck size!

✹ Pro Tip: Watch for Bully Necks

Bully breeds tend to have thick, muscular necks with little tapering between the neck and head. That means:

  • Slip-on collars must be sized accurately to avoid slipping off
  • Traditional buckle collars should be strong and wide enough to stay secure without pinching

📐 Step 2: Consider the Collar Type

  • Slip Collars: Measure the widest part of your dog’s head as well, since the collar has to slide over it. Choose the size that can fit over the head and sit comfortably at the base of the neck.
  • Flat Collars: Use the neck measurement for sizing. Be sure to check our size chart to match your measurement to the correct collar range.

Once you’ve got your measurement, head over to our shop and check the product’s size chart. All Bully Revolution collars list:

  • The measurement range for each size
  • The collar width (because bigger necks need bigger hardware!)
  • Tips for choosing between sizes

If your dog is between sizes, we usually recommend sizing up for slip collars and down for buckle collars—unless you’re going for a looser or tighter fit.
